Chinese Buffet Lunch in Cebu

Stepping inside the Grand Majestic Restaurant is reminiscient of a traditional Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong. Thanks to its impressive interior decor and brightly-lit dining area, you would think that a serving of dimsum here would cost you 300 pesos.

Well, actually, it does. But you don't just get siomai and hakaw (shrimp dumplings), you also get a slew of other delicacies like crispy pata (pork leg), seafood pie, chicken wrapped in pandan (lemongrass) leaves, home-made fishballs, calamares, and a whole lot more.

They even have a vegetarian section where all the tofu and veggie dishes are laid out. But the real star of the buffet table is the roast duck. As you know, roast duck is usually served ala carte in other restos because of its high value. But in Grand Majestic Restaurant, you can eat as much roast duck as your cholesterol levels dare. You can have it plain or wrapped with leeks or in a soup with vermicelli noodles.

The dessert selection isn't as varied as the main course is but the Chinese biko is worth a try. And of course, when in Cebu, eat mangoes. The restaurant serves them fresh or in the form of a mango pudding.

Grand Majestic Restaurant is located along Archbishop Reyes Ave., Cebu City. By the way, they only offer the buffet at lunch. No worries about pancreatitis there.
