My Favorite Salad So Far -- a recipe of sorts

I just had the most delicious salad I have ever tasted in a long time! No, it's not in the menu of a famous Italian restaurant nor was it prepared by the hottest gourmet chef. What I'm sure of is that it was made with careful consideration of the taste preference of the person to consume it. No green bell peppers and the right amount of cheese to disguise the taste of vegetables. Heck, I'm one picky eater. To top that, I bet my salad was prepared with much love... by my Mom.

To a stranger's eyes, my mom's cooking style might seem... different. She likes to use ingredients that aren't commonly used for a particular viand. Way before I tasted many of Greenbelt's fusion cuisine, I was already a fan of my mom's corned beef spaghetti. To cut the story short, her assortment of ingredients and method of cooking may sometimes be weird but they work.

If you're curious what I just had for pre-lunch, here's how to do it:

Recipe to Kate's Favorite Salad So Far

Ingredients:
crabsticks, shredded
romaine lettuce, chopped into bite size pieces
cheddar cheese, sliced
seedless red grapes
tomatoes, sliced

Dressing:
Japanese mayonnaise

How to prepare:
Are you kidding? You just mix everything together!

There are no quantity guidelines e.g. how many crabsticks to use or how much dressing to put. Because as Mommy has just made me realize, the best salads are custom-made.
